It's clear that an office with fluorescent lighting, a space that's supposed to be a cafeteria, bad coffee, and a lackluster atmosphere is out of place for a constantly thriving and highly creative event organization like This is Live Group. But the fact that the new headquarters (HQ) would become such a unique, warm, surprising, comfortable, and high-quality experience surpasses every dream and expectation. As a visitor, you don't just want to explore the various spaces; you also want to work here.

This is Live Group is the fastest-growing—and one of the largest—events organizations in the Netherlands. This is Live Group encompasses various companies involved in organizing and/or facilitating events and festivals. Its core business is developing and organizing innovative music festivals and concerts, such as Paaspop, Extrema, Solar Weekend, and WiSH Outdoor. The management team had their eye on a former factory building in Schijndel and approached Studio Hans Kuijten to transform the building, both inside and out, into an unprecedented headquarters where all disciplines of This is Live Group can come together and all employees have a workspace.

DELICIOUS VIBE

Inspired by the raw look of the warehouses in New York's Meatpacking District, top designer Hans Kuijten opted for large windows with steel frames, bold gestures, and an open feel, incorporating robust natural materials like steel, leather, concrete, and wood. A warm color palette, comfortable (custom) furniture, rugged accessories like woven rugs, beautiful wall and ceiling finishes, and mood-enhancing lighting enhance the wonderfully creative and homey vibe of this spacious building.

FAR FROM STANDARD

Inside the headquarters, we discover an inviting lobby, a restaurant—don't you dare call it a canteen—a cinema, a bar with a kitchen, various lounge areas, a recording studio, and of course, office spaces. Even these last-mentioned spaces are far from standard. It's striking that the various seating areas, offices, bars, and other unique spaces in the building are used at all times of the day. For meetings, client meetings, presentations, or simply to take a break. And after a busy workday? Then, at set times, a delightful party is also held in the restaurant or at the bar. The collaboration between This is Live Group and Studio Hans Kuijten isn't over yet. The designer is still planning to give the building's front garden a festival vibe. No, working here is certainly not a chore.
