with a nod to the past
In this stately and historic mansion, designer Hans Kuijten created a modern, luxurious, and comfortable interior that perfectly suits the wishes and lifestyle of the large family. Respecting the rich history – including preserving the beautiful ornaments and the original layout of the house – the interior was renovated and equipped with all modern technologies and conveniences.
The stylish and spacious entrance hall provides a pleasant introduction to the house. The high ceilings, the authentic flooring, the long sightline towards the back of the house, and the classic form of the modernized staircase create a beautiful overall picture that matches the characterful exterior. The colorful artworks and the beautiful lighting give the appealing space extra shine. To the left of the hallway, Hans Kuijten situated the warm and luxuriously furnished living room, where the classic fireplace, the custom-made built-in cabinets, and the ceiling ornaments are the eye-catchers. The spacious living room flows seamlessly into the relaxation area at the back – both featuring a wooden floor laid in a 45-degree herringbone pattern. By choosing a different color palette, however, it feels as if they are two different worlds. The eye-catcher at the back is the classic grand piano. The beating heart of the impressive house is the spacious, custom-designed kitchen by Hans. Natural materials – such as walnut wood – create a warm atmosphere in the elongated space, which features a large dining table with comfortable chairs at the back. Sitting in the kitchen, the residents have a view of the custom-made and very beautiful wine cabinet. On the first floor, the amiable designer created the clients' private domain as a luxurious hotel suite. Rich and luxurious materials create a comfortable feeling in the open and spacious room. The wellness facilities enhance the comfort in this enviably beautiful space.
