What started as an idea for a small renovation of part of the showroom naturally spiraled out of control when Hans Kuijten was brought in to design the interior. A visit to the De Groot Bewerkingsmachines showroom is now a unique, all-encompassing experience in which our lighting plays a crucial role!

More than just a showroom

Grand, captivating, theatrical, and with Brabant's characteristic conviviality at its heart; Hans Kuijten even manages to transform a machine showroom into a spectacular experience. Come in and take a seat at the communal table on De Groot Square, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a delicious lunch while receiving all the information you need. Surrounded by facades of houses that constantly change color thanks to RGB LED lighting, you'll immediately experience Brabant's renowned hospitality.

Unique appearance

This 16,000 m² showroom is unique in the Benelux region and offers visitors a huge selection of machines from top brands. A key principle in the interior and lighting design was to create a true "De Groot" feel. Visitors should feel that they are buying a De Groot machine, regardless of the brand. Furthermore, there was a desire for each machine to be individually illuminated, for the three divisions to be clearly separated, but for them to form a cohesive unit in terms of atmosphere and look. This has been achieved exceptionally well, thanks in part to our lighting plan with innovative dimming techniques.

Out of the box

Hans Kuijten always manages to surprise with his designs, consistently coming up with something unique and unexpected. To provide a counterpoint to all the technology and to incorporate the logo into his interior design, he came up with the idea of "planting" a tree in the middle of the showroom. Illuminated with our Vibe XL ground spotlights, this creates a striking natural statement amidst all the machinery, which is sure to bring a smile to your face during your visit.

Machines in de spotlights

The tree from the logo is also incorporated into the wall covering of the back wall, and to make it stand out, we've directed special Predator spotlights with powerful 40° light beams onto it, completely illuminating each tree. Throughout the showroom, a combination of robust Combat spotlights and Predator spotlights with different reflectors are installed to illuminate the machines. Here, the Predator spotlights have 24° light beams, literally putting the machines brightly in the spotlight.

Playing with light color and the way light falls.

However, during presentations, staff parties, or informal gatherings, the basic lighting of the Predators is switched off, and the Paloma light sources of the Combat spotlights are dimmed to create an intimate, almost exciting atmosphere, where only the machines are illuminated. A super cool effect! The use of RGB LED strips along the pillars and ceiling makes it possible to adjust the color and thus the ambiance of the showroom to suit any occasion. This has created a very dynamic environment, definitely worth a visit!

From open and bright to warm and cozy.

Hans Kuijten managed to transform this open and bright space, dotted with machinery, into a cohesive and inviting concept. Everything is visible at a glance, there's a clear layout, yet it also feels warm and welcoming – a place where you immediately feel at ease. The warm color palette is perfectly matched to the colors of the logo and is further enhanced by our sophisticated lighting plan with dimmable LED light sources and numerous RGB LED strips. Instead of focusing on the brands they sell, the emphasis is now entirely on the unique image that owner Ruud de Groot envisioned, and the showroom now reflects De Groot's style and philosophy down to the smallest detail.
